Q: What are Reed Diffusers and how do they work?
A: Casa di Francesca Home Diffusers come in a variety of scents inspired by the 4 seasons. The oils are created in Milan by a couture fragrance house and are of the highest quality. These oils are absorbed by the rattan diffuser sticks. As the oils evaporate from the sticks they are naturally diffused into your home continuously filling your space with fragrance. This flameless technology is an easy and safe way to scent your home.
Q: What type of sticks work the best?
A: Rattan Reed Diffuser Sticks work the best. They are very porous and excellent for Diffusion. Rattan diffuser sticks have 20 or more individual channels that run from the bottom of the reed to the top. The tiny straw-like channels pulls the fragrance up to the top of the reed allowing maximum absorption and evaporation into the atmosphere. We have tried numerous types of diffuser sticks and find that ours are the best for absorbing the fragrance and diffusing it into the air.
Q: Is it OK to use the Reed Sticks over and over again?
A: It is best to replace the reed sticks each time you replace the fragrance. Over time, as they become saturated with oil, they will lose their effectiveness to diffuse the fragrance oils. Also, dust can settle onto the reeds and clog the channels.
Q: How often should the Reed Sticks be flipped to maximize fragrance?
A: The flipping of the reed sticks allows you to control the amount of fragrance that is omitted into the air. If you want to increase the scent, flip the sticks. Another great way to control the fragrance is by the amount of sticks that you use. If you want to experience a more subtle fragrance reduce the number of sticks.
Q: How long does Casa di Francesca Reed Diffuser Sets last?
A: Our Reed Diffuser Sets last up to about 3-4 months depending on where they are placed in your home and how often you flip the sticks.
Q: Is it OK to use different scents in different rooms?
A: Absolutely! Many of my scents are simple fragrances; Mediterranean Lavender, Casablanca Lily or Gardenia di Provence. I place a different diffuser in each room around the house and love the way they work together to create a beautiful custom fragrance, like a garden or bouquet of flowers. I work with a couture fragrance house in Italy and our diffusers are made with the same quality ingredients and oils as fine perfumes, because of this, the fragrances are pure and fill a room without being overpowering. Even though I have been working with these fragrances for over a year I still notice them.

Q: Can you dilute the Fragrance Oil w/ water?
A: Oil and water don’t mix. You will end up with uneven wicking and warped reeds.
Q: Can I use other oils to diffuse?
A: No. Our Reed Diffuser Fragrance oils have been specially designed to maximize the most fragrance diffusion. Standard fragrance oils are too thick to use properly through a reed. Essential oils or fragrance oils have different characteristics. We have spent time developing the formula that is perfect for diffusion.

A: It is beneficial to choose a scent that is in line with the atmosphere you want to achieve during a particular season. Fragrance is a powerful enhancer of mood. When you inhale a fragrance the odor molecules travel up the nose where they are captured in specific receptor cells in the limbic system.
